Here's a part fix for Jeep, Dodge, and similar vehicles plagued by problematic window regulators made from plastic. A video on YouTube will demonstrate how to install this solution after editing is complete. The process is straightforward, but you'll need a few tools: a cotter pin to hold it in place and a Dremel or equivalent to remove metal tabs when taking off the plastic piece where cables attach. The cotter pin must pass through the block, extend far enough for the ends to splay out, and still make contact with the metal. To ensure this fix lasts, use high-quality materials that can withstand wear and tear. Avoid ABS, PLA, PETG, PET+, or any other similar materials. Instead, opt for PCMAX, Taulman 910, or Taulman 645 at the lower end of the spectrum. Other strong Taulman nylons or materials with similar properties may also work temporarily. My own print using PCMAX has yet to fail after six months. Additionally, I'll be offering a version on Shapeways because the process and material used are stronger than what can be achieved with a 3D printer. This option is still relatively affordable. The ones printed from Shapeways have held up well except for one early design that failed quickly. Two others, both based on my second design, have performed flawlessly for over seven years, outlasting their original motors by a considerable margin.
