Jeep Cherokee XJ Transmission Shifter Repair Insert

This is a replacement/upgrade to the failure prone and no longer produced insert in the transmission selector for a 1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ with an automatic transmission. The factory inserts are known for the stem at the top under the handle to snap off making the selector inoperable. Seeing the flaws in the factory design, I beefed up all the connecting links and added a rounded transition at the top instead of a sheer transition to hopefully prevent snapping. As for fitment in earlier models, I don't have a 96 and down XJ to test with but looking at photos I suspect it is similar and may work. I welcome anyone to test it if they have an older XJ and modify as needed or let me know any specs from the factory part and I'm happy to adjust for another model. This has however been tested in a 1997, 1999, and my personal 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Other notes, if its a little sticky in the selector tube, sanding the part with coarse emory paper can help. It will feel a bit snug once its fully installed, however the springs in the gear selector will move it easily.
