JD MM2 RAMPS fan mount plate for MendelMax 2
thingiverse
This acrylic plate, laser-cut at 3mm thickness, directs air from a 40x40x10mm fan onto X, Y, and extruder stepper driver chips on a RAMPS board. Focus was primarily on the trouble-prone Y axis driver. The Z driver receives sufficient residual airflow. A pass-through hole allows Z driver current adjustment, while other drivers can be accessed by stopping the fan and using a slender screwdriver between its blades. Customized for a specific RAMPS controller setup, but adaptable to other RepRap boards after adjusting location or drawing. Mount the plate using 3mm-threaded drill/tap holes with up to 5mm hardware; 4mm screws and Adafruit t-nuts were used for ease of access. Use a 24VDC fan on a typical MendelMax 2, ensuring clearance for Y table arms.
