JBL Flip4 modular mount - T-slot
thingiverse
This is a holder for the JBL Flip 4 designed specifically to mount onto a 1/2" T-slot found in kayaks and small fishing boats for use as pole holders or GPS mounts. It secures itself using a separate T-bolt and nut to lock into place, featuring two pegs that index perfectly in the track to prevent any movement. I liked the basic concept of the original mount but felt the backpack part wasn't useful. Initially, I reached out to the author to inquire about getting the Fusion design files but unfortunately never received a response. However, after taking a closer look at the design, I realized it's composed entirely of elementary objects such as cylinders and cubes, making it perfect for OpenSCAD which offers the added benefit of being easily modular. This allows users to adapt any mounting solution they prefer since the code is only a few lines long. With this new information, I redesigned the part using OpenSCAD. I've included both an STL render of the finished product and the SCAD file that defines it for anyone to use as needed. Feel free to remix it however you see fit and come up with your own unique mounting solution!
