JB4 and Bluetooth Mount

JB4 and Bluetooth Mount

thingiverse

I just got my JB4 piggyback Group 7 for my B9 S5 Audi yesterday and wanted to figure out a better way to mount it to my car. I first came across the idea for a way to mount the JB4 and the bluetooth adapter for it which is what you see in the pictures. I then decided to add a couple of ears so that you could choose to use this part itself to help secure your JB4 in the engine bay. I have a Group7 JB4, I'm not 100% positive if all the other groups are the exact same size or not (I assume most of them are), but the bluetooth adapter definitely is. Print this with a heat resistant filament or resin. I also plan on putting a 500ºf black spray paint coating on this as well before i mount it in place. There is slack in the fitment on this so you can easily slide your jb4 in place, and still have room for a few layers of paint without it becoming a pain. I plan on using some double sided tape to hold the bluetooth dongle in its place as well. I printed this first one to test fitment, but i will be printing the version with the mounting ears on it to mount inside my car. Also, I made sure the bottom of it was nice and flat so you could easily print this on your build plate without any supports at all. I also limited my fillets on that bottom edge for the same reason, to make printing without supports easier. All of the edges are 5mm thick, so you could hollow it out and infill if you wanted to go that route. Please post a make if you decide to try this out.
