Jay Mobile Phone Stand
thingiverse
A phone stand with minimal design fits most slim mobile phones. It was tested on the iPhone 5, 6, and Nokia Lumia with successful results. Printing this object is quick and easy. It can also be used to hold a tablet by simply scaling it up first. The images shown are of the simple version of this stand. A wide enough gap exists in both versions for use with lightning connectors. If someone plans on using their phone with this stand while it's plugged in, they should consider scaling the object 25% in the vertical direction (or a similar adjustment). It's worth noting that this object is printed sideways, which means any scaling must be done horizontally along the print bed so the finished result faces upwards. An update to these instructions is available: one customer has successfully printed a scaled-up version of the stand at 20% with all-directions using JStand.stl. Their device (an iPhone 5 or 6) stays in place well, even if covered thinly. To replicate this result, print the stand on its side with Black ABS material and use these settings: 3 perimeters with no infill (zero percent), rafts are turned off as well, resolution is high at 300 microns, and there's no support.
