Jaw exercising device
thingiverse
I've become really curious about whether jaw exercise devices actually work, and if a 3D printer could be used to create one. So, I spent a whole day designing this contraption, trying several different versions until I got it right. I'm pretty happy with what I came up with. The spring exerts just the right amount of resistance for my jaw muscles, and the grooves above and below seem to match my teeth perfectly. The main purpose of these grooves is to distribute mechanical stress evenly across as many teeth as possible, and there are multiple grooves depending on tooth size. I highly recommend using PLA for this print because it's non-toxic compared to some other printing materials. After the first print, I ran into several problems and ideas that could definitely make this better.
