Javascript laser cut lamp shades
thingiverse
A computer-controlled cutting tool and a brief JavaScript script turned flat plywood into two functional lamp shades. I leveraged JavaScript to generate the required vectors due to my prior experience with D3.js, and jsfiddle.net proved an ideal simple interactive development environment for the project. Before I knew it, I had developed accurate print-ready vectors. Check out the fully interactive source code here: http://jsfiddle.net/mistercrunch/9pHBW/20/. You can read more about this project in my blog post: http://mistercrunch.blogspot.com/2014/10/javascript-lamp-shades.html
