Java Upgrade for 10 oz Solo Paper Cups

This is a Java device handler compatible with Solo 10 oz paper cups. I'm fairly certain it will also work with Tea, although I haven't had the chance to test that yet. It may also work with soup (although I'm not sure how well it would hold up). This custom design was one of my earliest creations in DesignSpark Mechanical. It was inspired by a coffee cup I once owned, which was an homage to the Guggenheim Museum. My original design featured three tiers, but I decided to simplify it so I could enjoy my coffee sooner. It will grip securely if you seat it snugly. I plan to create a dixie-cup version next. If you need any adjustments, please send me the bottom/top dimensions. How I Designed This This design was created using DesignSpark Mechanical. To plan the gradual flare on this piece, I measured the cup with a caliper to obtain the top and bottom dimensions. I started by creating a simple cylindrical ring and stacking a larger one on top of it. A thin box was added, then rounded on one corner and hollowed out to form the handle. After completing the basic concept, I added the finishing touches by rounding edges. After printing the first test design, I made a thicker/taller handle. I used the 'pivot-edge' option of the pull function to flare the inside of the cylinder so it would taper-fit the cup. My initial print was done with a .4 nozzle. It mysteriously disappeared from my desk (there's a good chance I misplaced it on a maintenance run). The printer photo shows a later print that was done with a 1mm tip. That make will be re-touched with bondo so a repro-mold and cold-cast (aluminum finish) can be run. I will post photos if that experiment is successful.
