Jar lid trap for Asian hornets for monitoring areas. Designed to have an 8mm entrance hole to reduce the risk of by-catch to European hornets. And has escape holes at 5mm for other small insects so they are not trapped.The lugs on the side are so a cowl can be attached to stop water getting in. Cowls can be made quickly out standard UK plastic milk bottles.The flat section on the side of the lid was added so if needed a reference number can be added with a maker.The Small Trap Jar lid works with Jars that have lids around 66mm like most pasta sauce or mayonnaise comes in.The Large Tap jar lid works with Jars that have lids around 85mm this is less common jar as it is used for pickled items and the large jars of mincemeat.
