Drill a 3/16 inch hole in the top of your beehive. Fill a standard mouth jar with syrup by pouring it from another container into this one. Replace the metal lid on the jar with this special lid, then tighten down with the metal band that comes with it. Insert a tube through the top hole you just drilled to feed the bees directly. This setup allows for easy replacement of jars when they are empty without disturbing the bees inside. Two versions of this feeder system are included: one features a 3/4 inch tube suitable for regular beehives, and another has a 1/2 inch tube designed specifically for nucs made from D Coates plywood according to his plans.
