Jar and Lid (Spiral Vase Mode)
prusaprinters
Print the lid and the test file first to see if your printer can handle the tolerance when screwing on the lid. Each piece should take approximately 45-60 minutes each to print using a 0.2mm layer height. This model was designed to be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle.Completed Jar Dimensions:90mm Diameter95mm Height (With Lid)This is still a work in progress. I wanted to see if it were possible to make a container and lid using only the spiral vase mode. If your tolerances are correct, the lid should stay snug and tight, and it should hopefully keep its contents in, even if flipped upside down (see one of the photos). This prints were made using the stock 0.4mm nozzle with 0.2mm layer height with all the generic ABS settings on PrusaSlicer using the Spiral Vase Mode. I am interested in seeing how prints using a larger nozzle will turn out and how much tweaking will be required, so please post photos and your adjustments if you are successful! If you are planning to use this for long term, I would suggest printing in PETG or ABS or some over heat resistant filament to prevent warping over time (I've had PLA vases warp during some heat waves during the summer). Models in PhotosThe models in the photos were all made using ABS filament. The blue and white plastic is from Hatchbox, and the clear filament is from Octave. The model in the photos were printed using the following materials/settings:Blue (on a Prusa Mini)/White (on a Mk3S+) Hatchbox ABS (Generic ABS PrusaSlicer Settings)Transparent Octave ABS (on a Mk3S+) filament (Generic ABS PrusaSlicer Settings)0.4mm stock nozzle (Both Mini and MK3S+)0.2mm layer height (speed mode)Spiral Vase ModeNo supportsNo brimsTextured PEI sheetI am a 3D modeler, and this is my original creation!
