LEGACY PAGE : I HAVE WITHDRAWN THE PARAMETRIC MODELS BUT HAVE LEFT THE PAGE TO RETAIN DOWNLOAD & "LIKE" DATAThis Solidworks assembly has been compiled with design elements from online images for late 19th century Japanese type rickshaw. I have designed around wooden spoke wheels with Hawboldt type hub. The Rickshaw appeared in Japan around 1869 and was invented independently from the French 2 wheeled vinaigrettes of the 17th century. The timing in Japan came about with the repeal of ban on wheeled vehicles and conflicting accreditation goes to Izumi Yosuke (Tokyo) who formed a business to construct the vehicles or Jonathon Scobie, an American missionary in Japan (Yokohama ) whom had an invalid wife which may trace further back to a Massachusetts blacksmith named Albert Tolman whom manufactured the 2 wheeled manually pulled carriage for some missionaries going to South America in 1848. In 1869 the term jinrikisha (Japanese - Human Powered Vehicle) and ultimately Rickshaw became widely accepted at that time and from there spread to other parts of Asia. Pictured is rickshaw with & without canopy. The silhouette graphics have been purchased online (Vectorstock) and then altered using KRITA graphics software with a mother of pearl background to create illusion. The door carving DXF graphics were obtained from Craftmanspace. Model not quite completed as working on final aspects to canopy as well as a folded down canopy version.Bibliography:Springs for Horse Drawn Vehicles / CMA ISBN 1-880499-17-7 Carriage Museum of America (CMA)Wheel Wrighting, a Modern Introduction ISBN 0-9731947-0-8 Cottonwood PressBruce & Joyce MorrisonManual of Falling Bow Tops / CMA ISBN 1-880499-12-6 Carriage Museum of America (CMA)
