[Australian War Memorial AWM REL/11877] In 1944, made by Valrie Elizabeth Smith for Australian army nurse Betty Jeffrey of the 2/10 Australian General Hospital, this gift was a birthday present for her on May 14, 1945. It was created by fellow Australian nurse Val Smith of the 2/13 Australian General Hospital while they were prisoners of war.
