This project means more to me than anything else. I've spent two years studying in Fukuoka, and during that time, one restaurant stood out as my go-to spot: Inakaya. Their world-class Japanese-style chicken at unbeatable prices was a game-changer for me as a student - I could afford it multiple times a week. However, last year I heard the devastating news that the building would be torn down because it's too old. That's why I felt compelled to recreate this iconic building in 3D, along with my favorite dish. This project was an enormous undertaking. I scoured Google Maps for every available angle of the building and used countless pictures to model it as accurately as possible. Streetview proved invaluable in helping me capture the intricacies of the structure. To add the finishing touches, I spent hours handpainting details within Blender. It took a grueling five months to complete, but I'm thrilled to finally share this with Inakaya's owners and ensure their beloved restaurant (which marked 40 years in business last year) will be remembered for generations to come.
