A lamp that fits seamlessly with a twist, inspired by the innovative designs of Furniture Designer Nick Falzone and an intriguing picture of some remarkable joinery I stumbled upon. Although I'm not entirely sure if Nick Falzone employed this exact type of joinery in his work, the results are remarkably similar. This is no small project, but it can be tackled in manageable chunks by printing a few pieces at a time. This design is still in its beta stages because I am currently learning the ins and outs of CAD software. The diagram showcases how the components fit together perfectly. Once you've assembled everything, the columns will pivot after the beams are securely in place, cleverly concealing the joints from view. However, be sure to round over one corner of each column where the beams fit snugly, and design an inner support system for your chosen light source. It's highly recommended that you print a single column and both sets of beams to test-fit the clearance and adjust the files accordingly. I personally experienced a minor setback when my joints were too tight, forcing me to dremel the edges – a tedious process considering there are numerous joints. I deliberately kept the shade design simple by making it an insert; however, I'm confident that talented individuals will soon create some remarkable designs for the shade frame. So go ahead and have fun! Instructions: To assemble this lamp: * Start with Columns A and both sets of Beams. * Next, connect Columns C and both sets of Beams. * Carefully slot in Column B, followed by Column D. * Ensure a 1mm setback on the header, while the shade frame is positioned 2mm back. Your attention to detail will be crucial in bringing this magnificent lamp to life.
