The primary carrier borne dive bomber of the Japanese navy during World War II, the D3A Val proved instrumental in most Japanese naval actions. Produced in quantities totaling 1495, this aircraft left an indelible mark on Allied maritime presence, with fifteen ships succumbing to its onslaught, including one notable British aircraft carrier. By far, the Axis claimed the largest number of allied ship sinkings courtesy of the D3A Val's exploits.
