Japanese Centerpiece Lanterns for Wedding
myminifactory
These Japanese-style lanterns were created as wedding centerpieces and table numbers for a friend's special day. Battery-powered fairy lights were added to each lantern to bring them to life during the event. A total of 16 centerpieces, consisting of 96 individual parts, were printed using four Ultimakers that ran non-stop for a full week. The lanterns are composed of four main components: Frame - Designed to print without supports, it takes approximately 8.5 hours at a layer height of 0.2 mm, with an infill percentage of 15% and two shells. Lid - It fills the entire bed of the UM2+, printing in about 7 hours at a layer height of 0.2 mm, with an infill percentage of 15% and two shells. Insert - Printed using Spiralize (Vase) mode in Cura, it can be made from natural PLA or clear filaments like T-Glase. Numbers (optional) - Printed separately and then glued to the insert. To customize your own lantern's windows, download the CAD assembly from Fusion360 Gallery or GrabCAD.
