These custom Japanese-style lanterns were designed as stunning centerpieces and table numbers for a friend's unforgettable wedding celebration. Miniature battery-powered fairy lights were carefully placed inside each lantern to create an enchanting ambiance for the special day. A remarkable 16 centerpieces, consisting of 96 intricate individual components, were expertly printed using four high-performance Ultimakers, working around the clock for an entire week! The lanterns are manufactured in four primary parts: The Frame - a clever design that allows it to be printed without supports, resulting in a speedy print time of just 8.5 hours at a 0.2 layer height, with 15% infill and two shells. The Lid - a precise fit for the bed of the UM2+, prints swiftly in 7 hours at a 0.2 layer height, with 15% infill and two shells. The Insert - uses Spiralize (Vase) mode in Cura, printed using natural PLA or a clear filament like T-Glase for an elegant finish. Numbers (optional) - are printed separately and then carefully glued to the insert, allowing for easy customization.
