Japanese Carpentry: Sampo-gumi-shikuchi
thingiverse
I stumbled upon The Joinery on Twitter (@TheJoinery_jp) and was utterly perplexed. My initial thought was to 3D-print some of these amazing creations, but I quickly discovered that I couldn't find any 3D models online. So, I decided to create my own model of a simple join, as seen in the tweet \nhttps://twitter.com/thejoinery_jp/status/727473157729198080.\nFull credit for the concept and the gif goes to the talented individuals behind the @TheJoinery_jp Twitter account. My goal was to test whether it would work and how it would feel to assemble the parts. Since our printer is notorious for over-extruding, I deliberately added extra clearance to ensure that the parts wouldn't get stuck together. It's a bit excessive, even for our printer, but better safe than sorry!
