<p>I made a beehive like this for a friend, and he wanted to make some more, so I modeled this up, printed it at 25% scale and wrote dimensions on it to act as a guide for construction. If you see a beehive in Japan, chances are it is very similar to this one in construction. This model very closely follows the design explained in this (not my) series of videos. Japanese honeybees seem to be a lot more docile than bees in other areas, and I have no idea if this would be a suitable design for other regions.
