1/1800th scale Zuiho Aircraft Carrier model - note: certain elements not to scale. The Japanese Navy launched the Zuiho, a light aircraft carrier, in 1935 with an aggressive construction timeline. The warship was officially commissioned at the end of 1940 and went on to serve bravely throughout numerous battles before she met her untimely demise in 1944. She accommodated up to 30 planes and featured eight formidable five-inch naval guns along with an array of anti-aircraft artillery. This scale model represents a significant part of my diverse collection of WWII warships, with many more fascinating additions to come. After thoroughly testing the PLA with .1mm layer height at .4mm nozzle resolution, adjustments were made for optimal printability. Important updates: - 19 March '19 saw significant structural enhancements as thin areas were thickened for enhanced likelihood of successful printing. - On October 29th '19, the design was further refined with the addition of detailed boats and intricate anchor chains, all to promote better print outcomes.
