The LST-4002 is equipped with two different types of guns - one being a 25mm gun, the other being a 12.7mm gun. While both are effective, it's clearer which type each vessel uses: The 25mm gun is used by all vessels, while the 12.7mm gun is used only in emergencies, by larger landing craft and the OPS-14C surveillance radar. However, having a large number of small boats can lead to confusion in displaying details, so the Coast Guard has decided not to install the 12.7mm gun on the LCAC with two engines. Instead, it comes equipped with just the 25mm gun and various other features like a searchlight and a surveillance radar.
