Jane the Elf 2D image turned into 3D mesh

I created a 3D model by first generating normal maps for a 2D image and then converting those normal maps into a height map. Next, I used the TGA2STL program to turn my height map into an STL file, which I could then import into 3D Coat. In 3D Coat, I applied the Repair scanned mesh function to refine the model, followed by auto-retopology to optimize its geometry. Finally, I took the optimized mesh and re-applied the original textures using Blender.
