James Webb Space Telescope Clock

James Webb Space Telescope Clock

Print your own piece of science! This is a scale reproduction of the JWST telescope designed to accept a common mini clock movement. It looks otherworldly sitting on desk or on the wall. For added zing use acrylic hexagonal mirrors instead of printed ones (49.75 mm edge to edge). The boom rods for the secondary are 4 mm diameter. Shown here are carbon fiber rods. Cut the two side rods to 270 mm and the top center rod to 282 mm. The screws used to mount the boom mounts and legs are #4 x 3/8 inch flat head. You will need a maximum of 6 screws. The clock movement I prefer is the Mini Quartz from ClockParts.com. Make sure to order the long shaft version 1-1/4 inch length for a scale look. Shorter shafts will work, but you will need to shorten the printing height of the center cover. The center cover should be at an equal height to the end of the clock movement shaft. You can scale the height in your slicer.
