James Two
thingiverse
Human: "James Two" Will provide a massive print volume of 813 mm x 813 mm x 1676 mm at high speeds, rivalling even the most advanced industrial-grade printers. A large format 3D printer from most manufacturers costs an arm and a leg - upwards of $20,000! But with my expertise and experience in 3D printing, I can build one for a fraction of that cost. With over four years of 3D printing under my belt, I'm more than ready to take on this ambitious project. My son, who's only eight years old, has already shown a keen interest in coding and design - and "James Two" will be his stepping stone to success. He's completed his first hour of code at just seven years old! We need your help to complete "James Two". Your contribution will enable us to acquire the necessary parts, including hardened steel rods, bearings, and a heated bed. In return, you'll receive updates on our progress and exclusive access to our project's website. What We Need & What You Get * Hardened steel rods in various sizes and lengths * Threaded rods for stability and precision * Bearings and bushings for smooth movement * Plexiglas for the enclosure - a vital component for maintaining temperature control * Large tempered sheet glass for the print bed * Heated Bed to ensure optimal printing conditions * Stepper motors for precise movement * Electronics, including stepper drives, motherboards, displays, power sources, fans, LED lights, thermistors, PID controllers, end-stop switches, belts, wire, and filament (ABS 1.75) * Software to drive the printer Unique perks will be announced soon! The Impact Your generosity will help us complete "James Two" and create a platform that will benefit my son for years to come. With your support, we'll be able to provide him with the skills and knowledge he needs to succeed in this rapidly growing field. I'm involved with My Mini Factory project as a vetted printer, using it to fund the "James Two" project. I've also been trying to get into sales and service of 3D printers, but big players have dominated the market so far. Risks & Challenges As a seasoned maker, I've faced my fair share of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles to printing at this scale is the time it takes for prints to complete - sometimes taking days or even weeks! But with my current printer and software, I've already made significant progress in optimizing print times. Other Ways You Can Help If you can't contribute financially, there are still ways you can help: * Share our campaign on social media * Spread the word about our project * Encourage others to support us Thank you for your support!
