Jam Jar Greenhouse Project
thingiverse
I'm crafting a sustainable Greenhouse from recycled glass containers, not just jam jars. Using any transparent vessel is fine. My idea was to incorporate some of these jars into a rainwater collection system for the plants inside the Greenhouse. This marks my initial 3D printed prototype; I've already tested the concept with a metal lid and it's proven effective but needs refinement. The glass jar structure features open ends facing inward, allowing natural light in while the rain collector jars have their open ends outwardly directed, equipped with a custom-fit 3D printed adapter connected via rubber tube to my plants. The adapter designed specifically for a 10 cm diameter vessel is nearing completion and I'll be releasing more size options shortly; feel free to suggest a specific dimension if you can't wait. This versatile adapter requires a silicone sealant for an air-tight fit on the jar's rim. A 'spacer' was added to facilitate stacking multiple containers in a neat arrangement. Unfortunately, this project has been posted twice due to an error on Thingiverse, and I'll need your patience while resolving this technical issue.
