JAL- Test Structure
thingiverse
This is a simple test structure for quickly checking if your FDM 3D printer is calibrated well enough to get started with general printing and further calibration refinement. Unlike the common 20mm XYZ test cube, this test structure uses less material while simultaneously including features to evaluate overhangs, bridges, and stringing. Requires approximately 3g of material and 30 minutes to print, depending on material and configured print speeds. Details for calibration checking: • Structure: 30mm wide (X-axis), 20mm deep (Y-axis), and 20mm tall. • Structure edges: 3mm thick. • Walls: 1.2mm thick. • The cross-bracing includes 45° overhangs, and 59.75° overhangs • Bridged sections at the top of the structure are 14.mm, 18mm, and 24mm in length • The central area has many gaps where stringing is likely to occur if the printer or slicer are not properly calibrated for retraction distance and speed.
