The Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn monument in Allentsteig is comprised of several stacked stones and a stone slab featuring an inscription etched into its edge. A pillar sits atop this, adorned with a relief plaque. Friedrich Ludwig Jahn (1778 – 1852) was a renowned German educator who specialized in gymnastics and passionately championed nationalism through his writings. His work is widely credited with launching the German gymnastics movement, known as Turner, while also playing a significant role in influencing the German Campaign of 1813. This pivotal campaign ultimately led to the effective expulsion of Napoleon's First French Empire from German territories.
