The seat control modules on Jaguar's XK8 and XKR models tend to crack under stress and become loose over time. Located under the front of each seat in Jaguars built between 2001 and 2005, these modules are secured by bolts. The part number for these units is LJE2160AB/XXX. Replacement lids can be purchased (part number C2N3565), but I opted to create my own instead. Jaguar's Technical Service Bulletin 419-17 provides further details on the issue at hand.
