Jaguar Cars is a renowned marque of Jaguar Land Rover, a leading global automotive conglomerate based in Whitley, Coventry, England, where it has been under the ownership of Tata Motors, an Indian multinational since 2008. Founded initially as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922, this innovative enterprise started by producing motorcycle sidecars before transitioning to the design and manufacture of passenger cars. Following World War II, the company's name was officially changed from "Swallow" to "Jaguar," a strategic move aimed at distancing itself from the unsavory associations linked with the SS initials.
