Originally, they were meant for different purposes. These small bottles are perfect for filling with Isopropyl Alcohol of various strengths, rubbing alcohol, Acetone, Vodka, and other useful liquids. For myself, when soldering, I always need a small amount of IPA by hand, so I don't have to keep a 1l bottle around just in case. Having these bottles allows me to carry sets for cleaning and disinfecting chemicals in small quantities in various places - my portable soldering case, car for cleaning electrical connections... While keeping hazards low, the 2cl bottle doesn't need to be filled to the brim. Even if a small amount spills, it won't cause as much harm as a 1l bottle. Plus, these bottles have a glass body and metal cap, which looks more robust than plastic.
