The Jagdpanzer 38 Hetzer, a German self-propelled gun from World War II, was successfully developed by Henschel in 1943, using the lightweight Czechoslovak TNHP tank chassis. Its low-profile body with sloped front and side armor plates housed a 75-mm gun with a 48 caliber barrel, protected by a spherical armored shield. A 7.92-mm machine gun was mounted on the roof. The chassis featured a four-wheel drive layout, with the engine positioned at the rear and transmission upfront. Some versions were produced as flamethrowers, replacing the 75-mm gun. Production began in 1944 and continued until the end of the war, resulting in around 2600 units that served in anti-tank battalions of infantry and motorized divisions.
