Jacques Lipchitz, a pioneering Cubist sculptor born in 1891, left his mark on the art world starting late in 1914. Lipchitz's work up until 1915-16 was notable for its highly figurative and easily readable components, but after this period, naturalistic and descriptive elements took a backseat to a bold, synthetic style of Crystal Cubism that dominated his creations.
