Jackson Hole - Wyoming

Jackson Hole - Wyoming

thingiverse

This 3D model is built using super precise data from the Space Shuttle, broken down into approximately 2.63 million tiny building blocks called polygons at an extremely fine resolution of just one arcsecond. I've used a cutting-edge, yet unreleased version of SRTM2STL to get it looking this great. If you want to try creating your own files with even greater detail, at a mind-blowing 3 arcseconds per pixel, you can access the source code for free on GitHub and use it under the liberal terms of the GNU license - just search for SRTM2STL once you're logged in. To get the best results, you might want to print this out nice and small, especially if you're using PLA which can be prone to warping. Trying to print large Raised Relief Maps is even trickier, but some people have had a little success with it - of course, mastering how to prevent warping in the first place would give you an edge in creating truly epic maps.
