Jackal 5"
thingiverse
I've been flying the Jackal as an everyday freestyle rig and can definitely vouch for its durability, withstanding hard crashes that have snapped a handful of zip ties but never causing the GoPro to eject far from the quad. It flies very nicely, though it's a pretty tight build, with just enough room to fit an XSR, DYS Mi200, and a PDB+FC inside. The Jackal Bottom Plate SMA holes are too small, however, and need to be fixed. I've had to strap the back of my GoPro to the slanted plate and use a zip tie to secure it due to the HD camera strap slots being positioned too far back. This will be corrected in an upcoming update. The bare frame with all necessary hardware weighs 71g, while the pictured quad weighs 394g with props, GoPro, and no battery. The Jackal is a lightweight freestyle or race quadcopter frame inspired by the Hyperlite Evo design. Its versatility makes it suitable for both beginners and experienced pilots alike. Carbon Fiber Cutting Instructions: To build your Jackal frame, all necessary parts can be found on my Armattan productions store: https://armattanproductions.com/pages/kit_detail/1191, where I offer a 0% commission rate to keep costs low. The following cutting instructions are essential for assembling the Jackal: - Cut the Jackal 210 Arm from 4mm CF material. - Use 2mm CF for the Brace Plate and Base Plate. - The Top Plate should be cut from 1.5mm CF material. - Finally, use 1.5mm CF to cut out the Slanted Plate. 3D Printing Instructions: For printing the Jackal's 3D components, it is crucial to use a flexible filament such as TPU. To achieve optimal results for the Jackal Camera Mounts, print them with 100% infill. Feel free to download, print, and cut my designs for non-commercial use.
