Jack Sparrow's Compass
thingiverse
Human: Jack Sparrow's Compass based on this http://www.disneyexperience.com/models/compass_model.php paper model. I designed it because even though the paper model is awesome I want to make a nice prop that is kind of durable. Print Settings Printer: Monoprice Maker Select Rafts: No Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1 mm Infill: 20% Notes: I designed it with a 0.1 mm resolution in mind. I haven't printed it yet so... The Clasp, Dome, Guide and Top pieces will probably need supports from the build plate to print but everything else should be okay without them. Use rafts if you want. I would use at least a brim on the rear fixture just because it is taller then it is wide. Post-Printing Things you'll need -Glue -Maybe Sandpaper -1.75 mm filament Assembly Any parts that need to be glued should be dry test fitted first. The tolerances I incorporated into the design may be too small or too big so some sanding or filling may be required. Bottom Put the part Finder on the round post on the part Bottom. Put the part Guide into the square slots on the part Bottom. Glue the part Ring into the part Bottom. Glue the part Rear Fixture into the back of the part Bottom. Top Glue the part Dome into the top of the part Top. Glue the part Clasp into the front of the part Top. To complete use 1.75 mm filament as a pin for the hinge.
