Jack Skellington & Zero 3D Printing Figurines in Diorama | Assembly

ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINEDirected by Henry Selick and produced by Tim Burton, stop-motion animated musical “The Nightmare Before Christmas” became synonymous with Halloween itself and achieved worldwide cult status. Outstanding Burtonesque aesthetics, genius directing, catching, and deeply reflective soundtracks, memorable characters in a gothic and macabre world became the formula for the movie’s timeless success. But it all wouldn’t be possible without the lead character of the musical, Jack Skellington. Jack is the patron spirit of Halloween, also known as the Pumpkin King, who is the most respected and frightening inhabitant of the Halloween Town. Growing weary of his fear-instilling day job, Jack gets infatuated with the idea of taking over Christmas and substituting Santa Clause himself. Charmed by Jack’s charisma, our contributing 3D artist couldn’t resist recreating the eccentric skeleton in the form of a model for 3D printing. In his 3D modeled guise, Jack wears the trademark black pin-striped suit, bat-looking bow tie and dress shoes. Jack’s limbs look elongated, thin and angular, just like in his original movie design. The skeleton is depicted sitting on the roof of his ghost-dog Zero’s doghouse which resembles a gravestone and is surrounded by an old crooked fence. Zero is comfily settled in one of Jack’s palms, happy to see his beloved owner. The dog’s nose is made in the form of a pumpkin, which throughout the movie plot serves as a direct allusion to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Jack is visibly enjoying his pet’s company, smiling widely and telling Zero about his spooky business. We don’t doubt that such a unique and bewitching figurine will become an adornment of your personal Halloween collection!ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTINGJack Skellington & Zero figurines for 3D printing in diorama is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 45 hours in total. The diorama’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. In order to conceal the places where the assembly parts of the model must be connected, Jack figurine was cut along the contour of its suit seams and properly “taken off” the gravestone-like platform. Zero was carefully separated from Jack’s palm and its wavy ears were "cut off" as well in order to guarantee a clean 3D printing process. What is more, in order to ensure an excellent quality of the 3D printed result, such smaller parts as Jack’s hands, dress shoes, bat-like bow tie, Zero’s head, body and ears, cross on top of the gravestone, crooked fence, etc. are provided as separate assembly elements. The spooky platform was divided into four parts in order to fit the build plates of the smallest 3D printers. All assembly parts come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and to make sure that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any diorama’s file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format. The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown. The model's scale was calculated from Jack Skellington's height that is 1830 mm. The 3D printing figurines' chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONSFFF/FDM 1.0 version features:- Contains 23 parts;- A printed model is 240 mm tall, 199 mm wide, 204 mm deep;- The assembly kit includes locks to connect the model's parts securely without glue.
