I've been contemplating Halloween as it rapidly approaches. In previous years, my trusty keyhole saw has unfortunately succumbed to the harsh effects of pumpkin innards, while last year one of my kids' friends narrowly avoided disaster when they caught their hand in its blade. Fortunately, I have a pumpkins waiting to be transformed and, upon examination, it appears this tool is an excellent substitute with reduced risks for young hands involved. While the curve may benefit from a slimmer blade, only further use will confirm. As the holiday season nears, I'll certainly need to make a duplicate of Sliptonic's ingenious Jack-o'-lantern knife (found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4413) for easy pumpkin gut removal!
