Jabba the Hutt (Small & Life Size)
thingiverse
I commissioned a model from Josh Smith at Beast Toys for use in my YouTube videos, and I printed it at life size. The level of detail is impressive enough to hold up even at that scale, with some minor faceting in certain areas. The smaller version is the perfect size for 3 ¾" action figures, although the one in the photo has been scaled up to resemble a 1/6 scale model. I recommend using the flat-bottom version most of the time, as it prints much better and requires minimal support under the arms and tail. The life-size version measures approximately 10.5 feet long by 5.5 feet tall, making it necessary to cut it into smaller pieces for printing purposes. I'm not sharing my specific cutting layout due to some issues I encountered, but I suggest creating a custom setup tailored to your printer's capabilities and needs. In my case, I hollowed out the model and sliced it into 1 cm thick sections, although I recommend using thicker shells – maybe 1 inch or more. To print the life-size version faster, I used an 0.8mm nozzle. Check out my YouTube videos for further details on how I achieved this feat.
