Jabba the Hutt Piggy Bank
thingiverse
I created a new design for my Jabba the Hutt idol, which I realized would make an excellent piggy bank. It seemed logical to put the coin slot in Jabba's mouth, and adding a hole at the bottom with a lid was essential since you'd want to retrieve coins occasionally. After several attempts, I came up with a suitable solution: just insert a coin into the slot on the lid to screw it on or off. Since the model is already hollow, it's crucial not to use supports, as this might result in a plastic-filled bank that's difficult to remove. The entire thing prints perfectly without any supports at all. I did experience some stringing around the bottom hole, but this is easily removable. You may also need to slightly clean up the mouth hole, but that's it. However, you do want to use infill, as otherwise, you'll end up with two disconnected shells. I used 20% infill and found it worked well. This model can be printed larger, but if you try to make it much smaller, the mouth hole will be too small for larger coins to fit. If you print this design, please post a picture so I can see what others have created.
