J1772 connector hanger with hood and cable mount
thingiverse
The J1772 connector hanger features a hood and cable mount hood, inspired by erroneus's design but with enhanced support structure and no inner connection ports. It has a 30-degree hanger angle and reduced final lip overhang at 45 degrees off the base. The printed part is functioning well; however, users may consider beveling the inside for smoother plug insertion using a Dremel tool. The push-button latch effectively holds the plug in place while the lip keeps the cable secured. However, reducing the downward angle leading to the lip on the hood may improve cable stability during heavy winds. There's ample space within the housing that could be reduced alongside adjusting the downward angle. An updated version called 'j1772hanger_smaller' maintains the same footprint and includes an added air hole. The smaller hanger bracket has 24mm clearance between the plug house and cord hanger; users should measure their plugs for a proper fit. Print settings include a MakerGear M2 printer, no rafts or supports, 30% infill, PLA/PET+ scaling at 100%, and ABS scaling at 101%. Users may add a skirt to prevent warping based on their printers' specifications.
