J-Tech 2.8w Laser Openbuilds Mount
thingiverse
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a simple way to connect and disconnect my J-Tech Photonics 2.8w Laser quickly. I liked the idea presented by Droneme, but it wasn't quite right for me. The part that attaches to the laser is the same design as his, unchanged. I created a custom bracket to attach to the side of the Openbuilds spindle mount. I used the controller housing from Droneme temporarily to mount the board to the V-Slot rail, drilling holes in it to secure it. This is my first contribution and I'd be happy to answer any questions. The file for this part is available in Fusion 360 if anyone needs it or would like to suggest changes. Printer Settings: Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Supports: No Custom Section: The parts fit together precisely when printed in this orientation. Parts fit snugly together. This bracket attaches securely to the side of the Openbuilds spindle. Another photo shows it attached to the spindle. I revised the design later, making the part the full width of the Openbuilds bracket (not visible in this picture). Top View: I used a PC power supply connector for quick disconnect, two wires for the fan and two for the laser. I'm using the controller housing from Droneme as a temporary mount until I redesign it to find its permanent home.
