J-Man Self-Destroying Toy
thingiverse
Human: How much power do products hold over us, especially those that remain sealed? J-Man dives into this concept by pretending to be a fun, engaging robot you can easily remove from its package and play with, but as soon as the back panel is lifted, the entire robot comes apart at the seams! I'm personally captivated by the pedestal we elevate unopened products to and the thrill created by opening new items. J-Man taps into this concept in a fun, artistic way.\nTo create this illusion, the back plate for the robot has five small tabs that slide through the cardstock package and attach themselves to where the head, arm, and leg joints would connect. When the plate is pulled off and pressure is applied, all of the appendages fall away.\nTo assemble the product, print out the parts. Find a piece of cardstock, print whatever logos you want on it, then glue on a plastic shell! The design for my package is available as one of the files attached.\nWant to build your own fully functioning robot? It's available in its entirety on my profile page.
