j-head mount
thingiverse
To attach a j-head to direct-drive extruders like BDring's Thing:38281 or Whosawhatsis's Thing:15718 (tested on former), use the parametric OpenSCAD design. The M5 holes are for securing the mount to your extruder carriage, while the countersunk M3 bolt holes hold the front and back pieces together around the j-head. Drill out these holes to 2.5mm and use 16mm length bolts. Drill other M3 holes to 3mm but not M5. Attach the mount to your NEMA17 motor using 20mm M3 machine screws, securing a fan if desired. Print with support material for the j-head lip. Hardware required includes 2 (20mm M5 bolt + nut + 2 washers), 2 (16mm M3 machine screw), 2 (40mm M3 machine screws), 2 (20mm M3 machine screw), and M3 washers.
