J-Head Bowden Delta Printer (bowden support, all metal) with microswitch
thingiverse
I'm upgrading my design with support for microswitches, check out http://hacker.instanet.net/Store/micro-switch-right-angle-p-42.html or http://hacker.instanet.net/Store/micro-switch-extended-button-p-44.html. I salvaged some microswitches from a busted toy remote control. Instructions: Simply print this and buy three microswitches. Add them in place using glue or double-sided tape, if needed. Connect them in series so that one broken connection will disable all. I removed the leg of the switch and inserted it into a small hole. To accommodate the switch, enlarge the slot slightly with a cutter - excessive cutting won't require additional glue. After assembling, some springs are necessary, which can be obtained from a curtain holder or by cutting a pen spring. Attach the screws by placing a washer on top, then a spring, another washer, the bracket, another washer and the final washer to secure everything. Verify that all switches are pressed before connecting them to the Z-probe. When the extruder hits the bed, it will break the microswitch contact, alerting the Z-probe.
