J-head Adapter

J-head Adapter

thingiverse

To accommodate the shorter J-Head Hotend V5 in my Printrbot Ubis extruder, I designed an adapter that extends its length. Upon comparison, the adapter is slightly longer than the original hotend. However, it could be shortened by a few millimeters if desired. The nozzle opening should also be enlarged for better fitting. This adapter may potentially work with other hotends as well. Initially, I uploaded an incorrect STL file but have since corrected it. To print the adapter, I used 1 perimeter and 2 layers (0.4mm) with 20% infill. Concentric infill proved interesting. For installation, push the nozzle into the adapter while it's still warm using some force, then remove it. Clean up the small end and holes with an M3-sized drill, including the center hole. Finally, insert the nozzle into the adapter and secure it in the extruder using M3 screws.
