İmpact Attenuator (Honeycomb Crashbox)

Honeycomb cells' axes are quasi-horizontal, with nonangled rows arranged horizontally rather than vertically. An impact attenuator is a structure designed to gradually decelerate vehicles to a stop upon impact, safeguarding the frame and driver from deformation and injury. The majority of impact energy is absorbed by the attenuator's structure. These attenuators can be installed on vehicles or road barriers for protection purposes during large impacts. In Formula Student Competitions, students are required to use such attenuators in their designs.
