This is my first blender project, and it took four weeks to complete. I used four days to model it. Working on this project has been an absolute blast, and it's probably the most complex 3D model and texturing job I've ever done. I know it's far from perfect, especially when it comes to color scheme. I'll have to work harder to improve that next time around. My next project will focus on simpler models so I can learn more. I'll share what I've learned along the way. Some of this advice might seem obvious, but as a beginner 3D artist, I think these tips are essential: don't overcomplicate your models; use texturing to get the point across instead. Be careful when texturing - it can lead to huge file sizes if you're not careful. Learn to use color schemes effectively, or you'll end up with something like my model did. Any additional feedback or criticism is more than welcome. Additional note: some outlines looked ugly on Windows, which is why I left them out.
