The Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) is a NASA spacecraft launched on December 9, 2021. This observatory was built by Ball Aerospace in partnership with the Italian Space Agency. It is designed to measure polarized X-rays create by black holes, neutron stars, and pulsars. This IXPE model is a 1/20th scale model of the IXPE spacecraft. It was designed using publicly available images, so it is only approximately to scale. Some artistic license was taken when choosing what components to represent and how to represent them. This model is designed to be 3D printed using a standard filament printer at .1mm resolution. Printed components will need to be cleaned prior to assembly. While a number of components fit tightly, this model was designed to be held together with glue. Assembly instructions are in the word document.
